Legal agreements
Our appointment covered all civil and structural engineering design works, including some off-site works. The engineering studio we also in charge of obtaining all legal agreements for drainage (S104) and highways (S38 and S278).LegalÂ
The foundation design consisted of a combination of strip and raft foundations, depending on the ground conditions encountered. Â
Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS)Â
This was a 130 dwellings development located in an area with known flooding issues. Our planning support pack including drawings and drainage reports and calculations was under close scrutiny by the Lead Local Flood Authority, but was finally approved and planning application was granted. Â
A Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) was implemented. This consisted of an infiltration basin at the bottom of the site, designed in accordance with infiltration results to BRE365 standards. Ground water monitoring was carried out for up to one year to establish ground water levels and design the infiltration basin accordingly. Â
Off-site S278 worksÂ
The client was required to improve the existing highways network and provide a new right-turn lane to access the site. The design was undertaken using our 3D design software and following South Gloucestershire Council standards.
